Chicago-Ohare

At my age, I need to get these memories of my most recent trip down on virtual paper before they become the snowdrifts of ancient thoughts. This leg of the journey from Chicago to Bentonville was the first time on the whole trip and series of metal flybirds that I had a window seat. Next time, I will save the money for first class-more leg room-and request window seats. This is the plane next to us as we sat there waiting on affirmation that we were headed home.
This is not the smallest plane that I've ever been on-that was a crop duster and belly shaker-but this might be the most space economical one that I've ever crammed my size elephantine feet into on a leg crossing situation.

When you are outside of the airport and in your plane,it looks no different than much smaller airports. The walkways seem like lonely kids on a playground, just hanging out and waiting for someone to show up to play.

Don't you love watching the other planes zip in and out. Where are they going, where have they been?

This one was probably going somewhere far away and fun as our plane would have rolled right under it and left enough clearance for Indy Jones on the top. We were shorter than this baby's wing, we being our plane. I really want to get on one that has more than one level. I will when I get to Europe or where ever.

When you fly into Chicago, you fly right over Lake Michigan, well at least when you fly in from the east, and it doesn't seem polluted as you can see people smile at you from the buildings. But from this perspective, it seems that downtown and Sears Tower and such are a might smoggy.

This pic is of no importance except to me as it was the moment that your feet leave the planet. Isn't that a cool thought. When you are in a plane, you are no longer connected to the planet. With more push, a lot more, you could be a satellite. Writers always talk about being parallel to the earth, but can you be parallel to something that is not flat or straight?
Easy enough to tell that you are in the midwest. Cornfields and pasture surround the airport to the west.

I so wish that I had taken the opportunity to have this shot made into an 8 by 10 or larger. This is my personality. Don't let anything keep you down. Get up there and see the possibilities.
I was listening to Vivaldi on the Iphone and wanted Sach to look out the window. I forget that I can't hear myself talk with the earpieces in and my voice could at that moment control a playground of kids 3 states away. Sach muffled me with his hand and ducked his head. So can you still embarrass your kids when they are 28 years old and very seasoned world travelers and have spoken in London to gatherings that included John Roberts, rescued friends from the red light district in Copenhagen, taught classes in Philadelphia, given speeches in San Diego, etc.? Yes, you can!
