Aunt Ruth's 80th Birthday Celebration

I am quite late in getting this post to the blog, but I had a very sick spell in the ensuing weeks following this good time and just forgot. The preceding sentence was a long diluted excuse! We went to the Lake of the Ozarks just north of Lebanon MO for Eddy's aunt's 80th birthday early in September. Ruth is Eddy's dad, Frank's sister. You can see right above here, a picture of she and Frank in which I almost cut Frank out the picture with the picnik collage. They were properly situated for the actual, real-time photo. I won't go through every single picture, just touch here and there on the highlights. The cake-we don't have Costco around here, but if we did, I would be back on the credit card 12 step program. This store has EVERYTHING! It's crowning contribution was the cake from the bakery which had buttercream frosting and some kind of cream cheese filler. You can see cousin Julie(Ruth's daughter) holding a lantern over the cake as we did not have 80 candles or even a campfire or the fireplace lit. We needed some vast light as a tribute to Ruth and 80 years!
Another big note-the celebration was held at Verl and Jan's(more cousins) lakehouse. What a glorious place. The yard goes right down to the water and a walkway leads onto their dock. They have a sampling of every type of boat one could wish for, and Verl took us for a trip around the lake to see the homes(million dollar homes). It was quite the adventure for all of us. One relative not viewed above, but attending the big day was, of course, me! I was there in my place of duty behind the camera.
